George Barmpalias works in computability theory and algorithmic randomness.He got a PhD in mathematics from the University of Leeds in 2004 and since then he has worked in the University of Leeds, Victoria university of Wellington and university of Amsterdam, before coming to the Institute of Software, Chinese Academy of sciences. He has published over 45 articles in various science and mathematics journals like the Proceedings of the Royal Society, Philosophical transactions of the Royal society, Transactions of the American mathematical society, Proceedings of the American mathematical society as well as more specialized logic and theoretical computer science journals like the Journal of Symbolic logic, Annals of Pure and applied logic, Theoretical computer science and complexity theory.
